MetricQR vs QRLynx
QRLynx is one of the closer comparisons here. Both products lead with unlimited uncapped scans on every plan, both offer dynamic editable codes throughout, and neither punishes a code for being popular — which is more than most of this market can say.
The differences are in how the plans are shaped. QRLynx meters two things: how many dynamic codes you can hold, and how far back your analytics reach. Its free Starter plan allows five dynamic codes with three months of scan history, and higher tiers raise both — 50 codes and one year, 300 and two years, and so on up to Enterprise.
MetricQR meters neither. Codes and history are unlimited on the free plan, and Pro adds capability rather than raising a ceiling. The one headline figure worth reading carefully is their type count: QRLynx advertises 61 QR code types, but around 48 of those are ordinary URL codes with a brand template applied — Instagram, Spotify, Yelp, Venmo and so on. On distinct encoding formats the gap is much narrower, and the genuine differences are listed plainly below.
Figures for QRLynx were read from their published pricing on 2 August 2026. Pricing changes often — if you spot something out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

When QRLynx is the better choice
We would rather you pick the right tool than pick ours. These are the cases where QRLynx genuinely fits better:
- You need an encoding format we genuinely lack — calendar events, or Ethereum, UPI and PIX payments. These are real gaps, unlike most of the type-count difference.
- You want the PDF, file or link-in-bio page hosted for you. We generate the code but you supply the destination, so you need somewhere to put the file.
- You want AI-generated summaries of scan activity, which they include and we do not.
- You need more than 100 people in a single workspace — both products cap there, but their Enterprise tier is built around larger deployments.

MetricQR vs QRLynx FAQs
How many dynamic QR codes do I get on each product’s free plan?
QRLynx’s published Starter plan includes five dynamic QR codes. MetricQR does not limit the number of dynamic codes on the free plan. Both offer unlimited uncapped scans, which is unusual in this market and worth crediting them for.
How far back does scan history go?
QRLynx publishes analytics retention by tier: three months on the free Starter plan, rising to one, two and three years on paid tiers and unlimited on Enterprise. MetricQR keeps scan history indefinitely on every plan including the free one — there is no retention window, and data is removed only when you delete the code or reset its scans yourself.
Which supports more QR code types?
It depends what you count. QRLynx advertises 61 types against our nine, but roughly 48 of theirs are ordinary URL codes with a brand template applied — an Instagram QR code and a Spotify QR code are both simply a URL code pointing at that site. On distinct encoding formats the real comparison is about 13 to our 9. We cover the same brand destinations through our use-case pages rather than counting them as separate types.
Which encoding formats does QRLynx have that MetricQR does not?
Four that matter: calendar events, and the Ethereum, UPI and PIX payment formats. They also host PDFs, link-in-bio and multi-link pages for you, where we generate the code but expect you to supply the destination. Those are genuine gaps on our side and worth weighing if your use case needs them.
