What is a Multiple Links QR Code?

A QR code carries one piece of content, and no scanner reliably offers a choice between several links inside it — so a Multiple Links QR code points at a page that holds all your links — your shop, your socials, a booking form, a menu, a newsletter sign-up. Scanning opens a clean, phone-sized page with your name, a short bio, a row of social icons and a button for every link. The page is hosted for you, so you can add, reorder or hide links at any time and the printed code keeps working. You can also see how many people scanned it and which links they tapped.

Popular Use Cases for Multiple Links QR Codes

  • Creator merch, packaging and market stalls
  • Business cards that need more than one link
  • Restaurant tables: menu, booking, reviews and socials together
  • Event signage with tickets, schedule and venue directions
  • Posters and flyers promoting several channels at once

Benefits of Multiple Links QR Codes

One Code, Every Link

Socials, shop, bookings and contact on one page — nobody has to choose which code to scan.

Edit After Printing

With a free account, add a link, swap an offer or hide an old one from your dashboard. The code on the poster never changes.

See What People Tap

Scans and per-link clicks show which printed material works and which links earn their place.

Multiple Links QR Code Guides by Use Case

How a Multiple Links QR Code Works

Every QR code stores exactly one piece of content, and no scanner reliably offers a choice of several websites from a single scan. That is why "a QR code with multiple links" is, underneath, a QR code with one link to a page of links.

Here that page is part of the code. The pattern encodes a short MetricQR link; scanning it opens your links page, laid out for a phone: your photo or initials, your name and bio, a row of social icons, and a full-width button for each link. Each button shows where it goes underneath its label, so people can check the address before they tap.

Because the page lives on our side rather than inside the pattern, a Multiple Links code is always a trackable code. There is no static version — a static QR code can only carry what fits in the pattern, and a page does not. The upside is the one people usually want: everything on the page can change after the code is printed.

What to Put on Your Links Page

Lead with the one thing you most want people to do. Star that link and it becomes a button pinned to the bottom of the screen, where it stays visible while people scroll — a shop, a booking page or a sign-up form usually earns that spot.

Use headings to group the rest when you have more than four or five links: "Shop", "Listen", "Visit us". Short, plain button text works better than clever copy; people are deciding in a few seconds, often standing up. Links can be web addresses, email addresses or phone numbers, and social profiles pasted into the icon row get the right platform icon automatically.

Hide rather than delete when something is temporarily off — a sold-out product or a finished event. Hidden links stay in your editor, ready to switch back on, and never appear on the page. You can have up to 50 links and 10 social icons, which is far more than a page should show; most of the good ones have fewer than ten.

Scans and Link Clicks

Two numbers matter on a links page. Scans tell you how many times the printed code was used, with the time, device and approximate location of each. Link clicks tell you what happened next — which buttons people tapped, and how often.

On the code’s page in your dashboard you get both side by side: every link’s click count and share of all clicks, plus overall clicks per 100 scans, for the period you choose. A link nobody taps shows up as a zero rather than disappearing, which is usually the most useful thing to learn. (Clicks aren’t counted while a page is password-protected — the unlocked page links straight to each destination.)

Treat clicks as a measure of interest rather than a headcount. One person can tap several links, so clicks are not a subset of scans, and a link opened from a copied URL is not a scan at all. The numbers are most useful compared with each other: which link, which poster, which week.

Multiple Links vs. a Linktree QR Code

If you already have a Linktree, Beacons or similar page, you do not need this type — point a Website QR code at that page and you get the same scan analytics.

A Multiple Links code makes more sense when you are starting from scratch or would rather keep one fewer service. The page and the code are the same thing, so there is nothing to keep in sync, and the link-click numbers sit next to the scan numbers for the same code. It is free, with no cap on pages, scans or clicks.

One naming trap: some generators call a code that sends different people to different pages a "multi-URL" QR code — iPhone users to the App Store, Android users to Google Play, for example. That is a different job. Here it is called targeting, and it is a Pro setting on a Website QR code.

Design and Branding

The QR code itself is fully customizable on the free plan — colors, dot and corner styles, a logo in the middle and a frame with a call to action. A frame that says what people will get ("All our links") tells them why the code is worth scanning.

The links page uses MetricQR’s clean default look on the free plan, with a small "Create your own QR code" line at the bottom. With Pro Branding you can give it your brand color and logo and replace or remove that line, and the change applies to every code using the brand, including ones already printed.

Multiple Links QR Code FAQs

Can a QR code have multiple links?

Not in a way you can rely on — a QR code stores one piece of content, and scanners do not offer a choice between several links in it. A Multiple Links QR code stores one short link to a page that lists all of yours, so one scan reaches every link. That page is hosted for you and can be edited after printing.

Is the Multiple Links QR code free?

Yes. Links pages, links, scans and per-link click analytics are all free, with no limits on how many codes you make or how often they are scanned. Pro adds branding for the page, custom domains, password protection and other extras.

Can I change my links after the QR code is printed?

Yes, with a free account. Add, remove, reorder or hide links from your dashboard at any time. The printed code keeps pointing at the same page, so the changes show up on the next scan.

Can I see which links people tap?

Yes. The code’s page in your dashboard shows how many times each link and social icon was tapped and its share of all clicks, plus overall clicks per 100 scans, for the last 7 days, 30 days or all time. Clicks aren’t counted while the page is password-protected.

Do I need an account?

Not to make one. To add a photo, or to edit the page later, you need a free account. If you made your code while signed out, the most recent one is added to your account when you sign up or sign in in the same browser within 24 hours.

How many links can I add?

Up to 50 links, grouped under headings if you like, plus up to 10 social icons. Links can be web addresses, email addresses or phone numbers.

Can I use it in Canva or other design tools?

Yes. Download the code as an SVG or PNG and place it in your design. SVG stays sharp at any print size. The code keeps working whatever you later change on the links page.

Is there a static version?

No. A static QR code can only hold what fits in its pattern, and a page of links does not fit. A Multiple Links code is always trackable, which is also what lets you edit it after printing.
